My name is Donna, and this is my personal style diary of sorts, a place for me to share pictures of my outfits and looks and what makes me smile about them. I believe that clothes and accessories created with an eye for detail and attention to quality are a source of joy, both for the wearer and the discerning beholder, and I'd love to share with you the looks that I put together - if you consider it a serving of eye-candy or a source of inspiration for yourself, I'll have one more reason to smile!
Lady-like is how I would describe my personal style. Classic cuts, structured and sharp silhouettes, clean lines, and rich earthy colors are what sings to me. I believe Classic is the shape of things to come.
Now for the story behind what lead me to start this blog. The year was 2003. I was working with Cognizant in Madras, India, and my team was relocating from their Whites Road office to the newly constructed campus. We were saying farewell to our cubicle neighbors, and these two girls who sat two rows away from my cube tells me, "Donna, we are going to miss seeing your beautiful salwar suits! We used to look forward every morning to see what you were wearing that day." I had a skip in my step that evening as I walked home from work. I mean, I had always been passionate about dressing well and would happily use my clothing allowance to buy one solid outfit instead of three mediocre ones, even when I didn't have enough outfits to get me through a week when in college (I was not able to follow my passion for a long time while growing up due to circumstantial constraints), but I hadn't until then thought that others would have noticed and appreciated my choices too. Fast forward a few years, and I meet my wonderful husband Paul who immediately recognized my passion and talent in this area (he used to call me his "diamond in the rough", and if that isn't motivation enough to be your best then I don't know what is) and thanks to his encouragement and support, here I am today, sharing my take on style with the world.
The blog idea came to me while I was on maternity leave (I had my beautiful daughter Catherine in September of 2012), when I had some time away from work. I kept going back and forth on the idea, and then one day, from out of the blue, I got an email from a friend of mine, who told me that she loves my taste in clothes and thought my outfit pictures on Facebook look great and that she was hoping to get some ideas and tips from me. I believe the good Lord (who has the greatest eye for detail, by the way) has been divinely orchestrating my life and I knew in my heart that I had to move forward with the blog to use the talents He has given me. All glory to God.

I hope my blog inspires you to never ever give up on your dream, whatever it may be, and to be the best you can be. And if you can do that while dressed in an outfit that's pure poetry to you, well now that's what I'd call a nicely wrapped gift to yourself.
Enjoy your visit and thank you for reading!
